The CEE Capital Markets & FinTech Awards aims to recognize listed firms and top investors - and the full ecosystem of support such as international brokers, bankers, lawyers, IR professionals, and auditors – for their contribution to the development of CEE’s capital markets.
While traditional equity listings have dominated the agenda in the last 10 years, new vehicles such as REITs and expanding corporate debt markets provide additional options for investors and CFOs.
With both local and international media organizations present, the CEE Capital Markets Awards promotes the opportunities of CEE’s capital markets to a broader market of American and Asian institutional investors, hedge funds, and SWFs.
More than 200 guests are expected at this 3rd annual Awards, including top management of listed companies in the CEE region and international, institutional investors.
The evening will begin with cocktail reception in the ballroom foyer. Dinner and award presentations will take place in the main ballroom.
3 Aims of the Awards:
“We have 3 main goals in organizing these Awards”, said Thom Barnhardt, organizer of the CEE Capital Markets Awards. “First, we want to encourage more global investor attention on the CEE region - stretching from the Baltics to the Black Sea – with its more-dynamic economies than western Europe - to attract more global investors to the region's great companies. Secondly, we want to highlight top entrepreneurs and managers creating and building great companies.”
The third goal is to shine a light on top institutional investors. “Especially those are doing the extra work to discover rising stars in the region. Investors in these more dynamic companies are in fact doing much better than Index-huggers or those who don't do much homework.”
“Many of the Winners at recent Awards were companies that are disrupting traditional businesses with new business models, such as Openeo.pl (on-line tires)”, said Barnhardt. “Others are tapping into the IT and creative potential here in Poland and the CEE region to create global products – likes games maker Vivid Games. Others are flourishing in difficult markets like Kernel in Ukraine. And we also had Winners who are large foreign companies generating high cash flow and strong profits, like Uniwheels. Yet others are in the early stages of building their business, like Bittnet Systems in Romania, which is tapping the Capital Markets to fund their expansion.
CEE Capital Markets Awards distinguishes top public companies listed in Central Eastern Europe.
The 3rd annual CEE Capital Markets Awards Gala will be held 13 September, 2017 at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw, Poland, highlighting the publicly-listed companies who are leading the dynamic and fast-paced changes in the CEE region's capital markets sector. Last year, a total of 126 Nominations were received from Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, and Slovenia. The final Short-List included 83 leading companies, who competed for the top-prize in 17 categories.
In addition to Poland, international guests attending were from Romania, Lithuania, England, Germany, Austria, Sweden, US, Canada, Ukraine, Portugal, Belarus, and Switzerland.
